Anna is a UK-based reproductive health and maternal child health and nutrition (MCHN) specialist with over 18 years of experience in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. Anna earned a Master in Public Health, with an optional module in reproductive health and a Master in Humanitarian Assistance. Recently, she earned a post-graduate in International Health Consultancy. She has significant experience in managing, implementing and monitoring MCHN and reproductive health care programmes.
From 2010 to 2012 as Maternal Child Health and Nutrition Director, Anna oversaw the implementation of a USAID-funded health and nutrition program which saw the improvement of maternal and child outcomes. Prior to this, she was the medical and regional coordinator for a medical-nutritional emergency program in the Ituri District of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. She has also worked in Gabon, Tibet, Algeria and Angola in maternal and infant health programs.
As nutrition expert, Anna took part at different finals evaluations for USAID. Her consultancy work has resulted in an assortment of publications including program proposals, evaluation reports and training manuals on Emergency Obstetric Care. She has experience in the development of specific primary healthcare and institutional capacity strengthening programmes. She has worked for a range of donors including ECHO, UNHCR, UNICEF and USAID and with both international NGOs and private consulting firms. She is a native Italian speaker and is fluent in English, French and Spanish.
