On Tuesday 15 March, the Manchester Global Foundation’s Chair Prof Mukesh Kapila CBE will appear in front of the International Development Committee (IDC) of the UK Parliament to witness on the World Humanitarian Summit (WHS). Apart from Prof. Kapila, George Graham (Save the Children), Ann Foley (Plan UK), and Mike Noyes (Action Aid UK) will also be heard.
The purpose of the session will be to consider different perspectives on the WHS and on the broader humanitarian system. Topics for discussion will include resilience to and prevention of crises, reform of the humanitarian system and the need for evidence-based action in responding to crises.
The session – beginning at 10:15am – will be livecast on UK Parliament TV. Prof Kapila’s intervention will start at 11am.
