Women worldwide tend to be more affected than men by depression, anxiety and psychological distress. regardless of the specific setting. Considering this, the Global Mental Health and Cultural Psychiatry Research Group of the University of Manchester, supported by the Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, is organising a seminar on Global Women's Mental Health.
The seminar will explore in particular topics related to the detection, treatment and prevention of perinatal depression and anxiety, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the health of immigrant mothers and infants. Prof Cindy-Lee Dennis, whose research focuses on the improvement of maternal health, including mental health, as a means to reach better infant outcomes, will give a keynote speech.
Abstracts can be submitted via email to email@example.com until 30 March 2017.
Attendance will be free of charge, but registration is required via EventBrite.
